If 'n I Was God...

Michael has me musing again, this time about God. I have spent countless hours pondering Michael’s identity. I have considered the idea of Him being the Archangel Michael. I have considered the idea of Him being a Christ. I have considered the idea of Him being both... something else entirely… and everything in-between. What I haven’t written about yet, is God. What is it about Michael that makes us contemplate God? Or, more specifically, what is it about Michael that makes me contemplate God?
I have often referred to Him as being an extension of God, but what do I really mean by that? When I first thought about that, I wasn’t even really sure. The idea of God perplexes me. First of all, I know that He/She encompasses everything. But are we creations of God, or are we actually extensions of Him? When a painter creates a painting, that creation takes on life. It exists because the artist formed it. It is beautiful in its uniqueness. It is an expression of the artist, and so it is a part of him. Yet it is still separate. The painting is the artist, but the artist is not the painting. I like to think that the human spirit is like that painting. That we are each a unique creation, given life by God. That we exist because of Him. That we are intentional, each of us, in every detail. That we are God’s essence. His inner muse exposed.
God is most definitely an artist. We only need to look around us at this amazing masterpiece that we call Planet Earth to see that. The complexity of Her beauty is astounding. Certainly no accident. But God is more than just an artist. God is a philosopher. He is a lover. He is a teacher. A mad scientist…

The true definition of God exceeds the capacity of human comprehension, because we are not capable of understanding infinity. We have a word for it, and we understand that it means limitless, but when we try to envision it in our minds, it is beyond our capacity. Try to imagine the size of the Universe… that alone is mind blowing. How big is never-ending? There is just no way of translating it into something that the human mind can fathom. Now, when we consider that God is even greater, the translation becomes even more skewed. Which is why, throughout the ages, man has tried to form God into something we can comprehend, and as a result, He has been distorted, reduced to a tiny fragment, and we have lost sight of Him. We have become convinced that God is limited. That He looks a certain way, thinks a certain way, behaves a certain way. That He fits into one religion, one belief system, one form, a set of rules. The reality is that God doesn’t fit into anything. He cannot be categorized or defined. He is neither male nor female, black nor white, young nor old, gentle nor merciless, human or non-human… He is all of these, and none of them, and everything in-between, and... He is ever-evolving (does this sound familiar to anyone else besides me?) Remember the vision of that endless Universe? What about something as concrete as time? Does God have a beginning? How can He? If He hasn’t always existed, then He too must have been created… and by whom?

So we don’t have the capacity to understand God. I have accepted that. Now, what of Michael? Messenger? Angel? Messiah? Aren’t all these things a creation of man to explain God again? Ok. Then this brings me back to the idea of an extension of God.
Have you ever considered that God doesn’t require a messenger? Have you thought about the idea that God has the ability to take on any form He wishes, including human? If God did take on human form, I wonder what He would be like? I think He would be beautiful, compassionate, gentle, intelligent, creative. I think He would be a guardian, a role model, a hero, an icon. I think He would demonstrate astounding ability and uniqueness in everything He did, beyond anything this world has ever seen. He would be filled with generosity, strength, humility, and wisdom… and He would be all about LOVE. Don’t you think?....
And I wonder what His message would be? To take care of the planet? To take care of each other? To come together as One? To live in harmony, as He intended? To educate our children? To educate ourselves? To strive to be our best? To believe in our own abilities? To LOVE one another? I’m just thinking out loud at this point….
I often wonder what it was about Michael that drew so many to Him. His popularity went far beyond that of a pop star. His fame was on a whole other level. It wasn’t just excited fans. There was an atmosphere of hysteria. Desperation. You can hear people’s souls in their voices when they call His name. They seem to abandon themselves completely to Him... Why? And when Michael died, the world was left reeling. Fan or not, all of us remember where we were when we heard the news that Michael Jackson was gone… Why? And then what? A great mass of people were ‘struck’ by Him. Called to Him, without explanation, from every corner of the globe. Touched by Him on a spiritual level, even some who barely knew His music. Gathered together in His name, determined to carry His message forward. Why?
I think Michael has given us the answer to these questions already, long before we ever even asked them. So I guess the only question left is…

ARE YOU LISTENING?
Who am I?
Who are you?
Where did we come from?
Where are we going?
What’s it all about?
Do you have the answers?
Immortality’s my game
From Bliss I came
In Bliss I am sustained
To Bliss I return
If you don’t know it now
Its a shame
Are you listening?
This body of mine
Is a flux of energy
In the river of time
Eons pass, ages come and go
I appear and disappear
Playing hide-and-seek
In the twinkling of an eye
I am the particle
I am the wave
Whirling at lightning speed
I am the fluctuation
That takes the lead
I am the Prince
I am the Knave
I am the doing
That is the deed
I am the galaxy, the void of space
In the Milky Way
I am the craze
I am the thinker, the thinking, the thought
I am the seeker, the seeking, the sought
I am the dewdrop, the sunshine, the storm
I am the phenomenon, the field, the form
I am the desert, the ocean, the sky
I am the Primeval Self
In you and I
Pure unbounded consciousness
Truth, existence, Bliss am I
In infinite expressions I come and go
Playing hide-and-seek
In the twinkling of an eye
But immortality’s my game
Eons pass
Deep inside
I remain
Ever the same
From Bliss I came
In Bliss I am sustained
Join me in my dance
Please join me now
If you forget yourself
You’ll never know how
This game is played
In the ocean bed of Eternity
Stop this agony of wishing
Play it out
Don’t think, don’t hesitate
Curving back within yourself
Just create just create
Immortality’s my game
From Bliss I came
In Bliss I’m sustained
To Bliss I return
If you don’t know it now
Its a shame
Are you listening?...

Sing For Me

Yet again… another musing that has caused me much discomfort.
Let me start by saying that I believe that Michael speaks to us all individually. I think the way He speaks to us depends on who we are. Some of us are artistic, and it is through our art that we connect to Him.  Some of us are emotional, and He speaks to us through feelings. Some of us are writers, and He speaks to us with words. There are countless ways that Michael can communicate with us, depending on our own individual heart. All we need to do is to be open to receiving Him and He will make His presence known.

For me, Michael often communicates through feeling, art, and occasionally with words. Whenever He offers something to me it always takes me on a journey of learning, and I eventually find myself here.. writing about it. I feel an enormous responsibility to present my thoughts and feelings as just that – my thoughts and feelings. It makes me very uncomfortable quoting anything that I feel has come to me from Michael, because I truly believe that what is given to us, is personal. It is presented to us in a way that allows for interpretation, for the purpose of learning and self growth. I would never want to invalidate another’s interpretation by 'quoting' Michael. I prefer to just take what He has given me and process it, and then talk about what I am learning, and how it alters me. This musing, however, is particularly difficult because it requires that I just simply quote the words that were given to me. So, I just want to express that this is the interpretation that came to me. It is the translation that I received. No one needs me or anyone else to communicate messages from Michael. We are all capable of it.
The way in which this came to me was through something I have never experienced before. I was in the middle of typing an email to a friend, when I closed my eyes and began typing extremely quickly. I was aware of some of the sentences, but mostly, the experience was just a blur. When I opened my eyes, this is what I had written:
"I wanna thank you all for being by my side as you always were. This is a crucial time that we are facing and I need you all to stay strong for me for just a little while longer. I want you all to know that I love you all from the abyss of my soul, and that I see all the work you are doing on my behalf. I am watching you and sending you my all, everything I have, so that we can begin to heal the world - together. This is the only way. You are the chosen ones. You must sing for me now. Sing loud and long. Sing out. Sing from your hearts and souls. Let me sing through you so that the world will hear my message… God’s message. I need you to know that you are not alone. I have brought you all together. It is in my name that you will go forward and make this happen. You can do it. We can do it. I know we can. You have to believe. All of you. Please. Think of our children. Think of each other. This is our only hope. You are my only hope. God is counting on you. He believes in you. I believe in you. Take my hand. I can’t do this without you. Pray for justice. Pray for peace. Pray for healing and love. It will happen if you believe in me. I sang for you. Now it’s your turn to sing for me. Let your voices join together. Become God’s choir. Free your hearts. I know what the future holds for us. You are amazing, and I want you to know that. You must believe that I believe in you. I am alive because of all of you. You are my angels. My choir of angels. Keep singing for me. Your voices are the light of my soul… of the world. Make love your weapon. Go softly in my name. Thank you and I love you. Know that. I love you all. Blessings and love are your reward. I need you. The world needs you. God needs you. We’re counting on you. Bless you, my beloveds. I love you more."
So there it is. I don’t understand why those words were given to me, why they came out when and how they did, or why I translated them this way. Perhaps some of you will find something in them that alters you somehow. More likely, it was yet another way to get me to step outside that box that I am so comfortable in. A way of forcing me to “sing out”. Ok, Michael, I’m singing. I know I may be a little off key, or perhaps I’m a little out of rhythm... but I’m singing for You, my Love. As loud and as long as I can, because You are the only song my heart knows. You are the melody that weaves through my soul and has loved me back to life.

Thank you, my Angel.
I love You. More.
